EDIT: Problem solved! I sifted my flour, so it was very very fluffy and floated high on the liquid in the bottom. So the paddle was simply barely skimming under the flour layer and wasn't able to draw any flour down into the milk/butter. I'm trying again now, but this time I poke a wooden spoon handle down through the flour layer into the liquid layer a few times, and now it's given the paddle a little something to grab on to. And now I've got a decent doughball!

I was gifted a Cuisinart CBK-210 as a gift, I followed all the instructions, using menu setting #1 for white bread, 1.5 lb loaf, medium crust color. I followed the instructions to have all liquid ingredients on the bottom and powder ingredients on top. The following recipe worked twice before it was gifted to me, so I have no idea what happened! πŸ˜‚

I DID have the paddle installed, and it was turning. I could see liquid making it to the surface when I left it. I can observe the paddle turning if I run the same settings when the machine is empty.

Please, let me know if this problem looks like something you recognize, and what I should do about it!

What?! Sorry no recommendations but what? Is that a crust around flour!? Sorry I’m yelling.

  2. Harlots_hello

I thought it was a giant profiterole.

This might be an original experience, I’m baffled and almost feel like we’re getting trolled lmao

so next time you want your dry ingredients to mix with the wet prior to baking. hope this helps !

Also loving this. If not a joke, I’m sorry OP. It looks like nothing mixed and then you put whatever was in the mixer directly into the oven?

I think you should contact t the manufacturer. It’s probably some super specific thing that goes wrong with that model that they already know about.

  7. oogieboogiexo

I thought that was frosting and this was cake looool

It’s not often you see something new lol

Did you possible forget to put your paddles in? I have done that several times…….πŸ₯΄ So sorry……..I didn’t see where you had mentioned that you actually did put the paddles in. Mine has two paddles. I have never seen anything like this.

This is genuinely hilarious and baffling. I’m with everyone else on this. Is it possible you added your butter too hot?

That would kill your yeast on impact, which prevented any kind of rise so your breadmaker wasn’t able to mix the way it should with a “fluffy” dough which led to the block of toasted flour?

If you’re adding fully melted butter, next time, make sure it’s almost room temperature

I mean I have the same bread machine and it works great lol.

Did you accidently set it directly to bake? Or did the paddle get jammed half way through?

I have a bread machine and I’ve had a loaf turn out like this before. It worked perfectly countless times before incidents and continued to work well ever since. Im really not sure what happened for the loaf to turn out so wrong.

I did speculate at the time that perhaps the ingredients mixed around the base of the paddle and became a thick glue-y mess before the paddle had a chance to start properly kneading the dough. But that was just a wild stab in the dark.

Bread machines aren’t β€œscams”, you just have to actually stick around and make sure it mixes. I’ve made plenty of bread, bagel dough, French bread dough, pizza dough, etc. using my bread machine and have never had anything turn out like this lol

This 100% has to be fake and seems staged. There’s no way just no way this could have come out of the bread machine if OP actually followed the steps they say they did.

Sorry cant help, but you have me cracking up loudly at 7am. It took me reading the description to actually realise what I was seeing & what had gone wrong & its made my morning.

I dont know what went wrong, or how it happened, but imma say talent, cause I dont think I could pull that off. 🀣🀣🀣

  16. Suspicious_Opinion85

Did you place the kneeding paddles in?
Maybe that function of the machine is seized or broken?

  17. LemonLily1

Wait, what? How did you get crust? 🀣🀣🀣

That’s hilarious, I thought it was cream filled bread or something. I still can’t tell if this is a joke or not haha

  18. wasabi1787

I hate to tell you this, but you can’t make bread out of a block of cream cheese

  19. BelleCat20

Thought this was a weird frozen cheesecake of some kind 😭

  20. w__gott

Thought that was a double crusted cheesecake

  21. Celestia90

I thought this was some sort of ice cream sandwich.
